This is a short book that Peter Krey wrote upon beginning graduate school. He uses Tillich’s method of correlation of Luther’s thought with great Theologians and philosophers and then searches through Luther’s understanding of suffering to come to terms with his very difficult ministry in Coney Island, New York. “The only trouble with heaven is that you have to go through hell to get there,” is something that Luther might have said and he discovers that Luther really did say it. This book has been revised three times and the last revision took place in 2010. Click here.
